BugSnax: A Easy completions with in a weird world full of food bugs.

So one of my most favorite games to come out around the time the new gen consoles were just released was a small indie title that would soon release onto Xbox in 2022. That game is called BugSnax which was released on November 12th 2020 for PlayStation and Epic Game Store and then arrived onto other systems around May 2022 with a huge update that added 3 more achievements and new content. I just love this game for how dumb the world is but has characters that are written like actual human beings. The game follows your character who journalist career is dying so you try to find a explorer named Lizbert Megafin who found an island filled with odd creatures known as BugSnax. When eating these creatures, it turns a body part of a Grumpus into what they ate. Upon arriving to the island, you find Filbo another character in the game who tells you Lizbert and her partner Eggabell went missing and the other Grumpuses have scattered to other parts of the island after they had a fight and a earthquake affected their small town of SnaxsBurg. You must now find all the Grumpses, bring them back home and learn what happened to Lizbert and Eggabell. I will put a video in here that has the trailer for BugSnax but for this blog I wanna go over the achievement completion for BugSnax for both the main game and the updated DLC. here we go

EVERYBODY GETS ONE

Requirement: Catch your First Bugsnax

This is trophy is the first one you get in the game that if you avoid the waterfall near Filbo. When you meet Filbo he'll ask you to catch a Bugsnax which will be your first. The bugnsax in mind is a Strabby which is the easy Bugsnax to catch in the game. Once you catch it, that the first achievement.

WONDERFALLS

Requirement: Check behind the waterfall for secrets

Like I said in the previous trophy, when you find Filbo, he will be in an area that will have a waterfall. The waterfall will be right next to the right. All you need to do is enter the waterfall and walk up the path and the achievement is acquired

GONE HOME

Requirement: Find your way to Snaxburg

This easy trophy just requires you to just arrive to Snaxburg. All you need to do is the complete the main quests that lead up to entering SnaxBurg. Complete whatever quests Filbo, Wambus and Beffica give around that time and you'll soon end up at Snaxburg. Just enter the front gate and that achievement is yours.

PERF DIRT

Requirement: Steal Beffica's Diary from her cave

After you finish all of Beffica's main requirements, she will head back to SnaxBurg. Once she fully leaves, you can explore her cave. Inside her cave is her diary. All you need to do is pick up her diary and the achievement is yours.

CANDID CRYPTID

Requirement: Scan the Snaxsquatch

The Snaxsquatch is a beast that randomly appears at night in specfic areas of the game. There is an easier way to scan it and that during the final part of the game's main story. But if you want it quicker, you need to sleep till Midnight and find it. You need a good eye to see it and once you do, scan it and you get the achievement.

COMBO MEAL

Requirements: Transform a Grumpus with a Bunger, Fryder and a Sodie

For this you need to feed one Grumpus with these three BugSnax. Luckily all 3 of these BugSnax appear in the same area but Sodie won't appear till Beffica leaves. During the main quest, Wambus will ask you to feed him a Bunger and Fryder beforehand. Once Sodie appears, catch it and feed Wambus it to get this achievement.

MIDNIGHT SNACK

Requirement: Transform Gramble

Gramble is a character you will meet after first arriving to SnaxBurg. Once you get Gramble back to SnaxBurg, getting Gramble to eat BugSnax will prove to be difficult since he refuses to eat them. However, Gramble starts sleepwalking so feeding him while he sleeps works. All you need to do is feed him one and you get the achievement.

QUARTERMASTER

Requirement: Catch 25 unique Bugsnax

A very simple achievement which is to catch 25 different Bugsnax

HALFWAY THERE

Requirement: Catch 50 unique BugSnax

Similar with the QuarterMaster achievement, all you need to do is catch 50 different Bugsnax.

GOT TO CATCH THEM ALL

Requirement: Catch 100 unique BugSnax

This one requires you to catch 100 Bugsnax, which is all of the Bugsnax in the main game. It is also to note that the DLC Bugsax won't count at all, so all you need is the 100 from the main game.

DOUBLE TRAPPER

Requirement: Catch more than 1 Bugsnak in your Snak Trap at once.

Basically catch two Bugsnak at the same time. They don't need to be different. For an easy way to getting it, just place the Snak Trap in the cave where two Fryders reside and shoot Ketchup at the Trap. Then try attracting the Fryders to the trap and once both are in trap range, trap them and collect the trap to earn the achievement.

LAUNCH PARTY

Requirement: Stun a flying Bugsnak by launching another Bugsnak at it.

For this achievement, you need to the launch pad which is obtained when you meet Cromdo in the Scorched Gorge. Once you have it, just find a flying bugsnak and place a launch pad down. Aim it towards the flying Bugsnak and get a Bugsnak on the pad. Once on, launch it and hope for it to hit the flying bugsnak. After that, the achievement is yours.

TRIPPIN BALL

Requirement: Stun a BugSnax with The Trip Shot attached to the Buggy Ball.

For this you need the Trip Shot and Buggy Ball. The Buggy Ball you get first when you first meet Gramble and the Trip Shot you get when you do Chandlo and Snorpy's main quest. It also noted that Chandlo will give you the Snakgrappler which will be required for the achievement that will be disscussed. Once you have both the Trip Shot and Buggy Ball, head to any area and place the Trip Shot down. It is noted that the Trip Shot has a design flaw which prevents it from being placed down on sand, snow and dirt. It needs to be placed down on rocks or other objects, including fire. Once placed down, take out the Buggy Ball and shoot the Trip Shot at the ball. Then control the ball to hit a bugsnak and the achievement is yours.

GRAB BAG

Requirement: Empty one biome of all it's Snakpods

Snakpods are these special BugSnaks that are in the form of chip bags and cady bags. They can be caught with the net and SnakGrappler. There are different types of them in each area and they can only show up when the Grumpus of that area leaves after finishing their main quest line. Once they leave, there are 5 snakpods in each area. Catch all 5 and the achievement is yours.

IN THE ARMS OF GRAMBLE

Requirement: Donate the max amount of Bugsnax to Gramble's Ranch.

When Gramble returns to Snaxburg, he will open his ranch. There will be a donation box there as well which is required for this achievement. This can also increase your inventory so you can carry more Bugsnax. You will need to donate a total of 36 Bugsnax, they don't need to be different, just donate 36 of them. 6 is needed for the first upgrade, 12 for the second, 18 for the last. After that, the achievement is yours.

THAT REMINDS ME OF A PUZZLE

Requirement: Solve the secret of the lava cave, or the secret of the dunes.

So for this one, you need to gain access to 2 of the 3 final parts of the island, Sizzlin Sands and Boiling Bay. Both areas are connected to each other because there is a puzzle involving these statues lead to each of their areas. Below is an image of the statues, the boiling Bay statues have different antennas so you need to press the right ones in order so 1-4. The Sizzlin Sands one have statues looking in different areas or in better terms, pointing at each other. You need to start with the one that doesn't have a statue pointing at it and then touch the statue that the one you just touched is pointing at. Follow the order and touch the one that pointing at the sand dune. When solving both it will give you access to a path that takes you to both areas. You just need to solve one to get this achievement.

TALKIN ABOUT BUGSNAX

Requirement: Interview every Grumpus

When you convince every Grumpus to return to SnaxBurg, you will need to interview them in order to get info about Eggabell and Lizbert, this will also start their side quest line. This also info about themselves and after you finish a interview, they will give you an item that would help you find more info about Lizbert and Eggabell or founding out where they went. This info is needed for another achievement.

DOCUMENTARIAN

Description: Watch all Lizbert's video Diaries

This is the reason why you should interview every Grumpus, they will give you an item the will lead you to finding video Diaries involving Lizbert. There are a total of 5 of them ad once you interview every Grumpus, you will need to find all of them. After finding all 5, head to Lizbert's house in Snaxburg and you will find a video player, watch all 5 videos and you will get the achievement.

KNOW THY NEIGHBOR

Description: Return Every Grumpus to Snaxburg

For this you need to return all 12 Grumpus to Snaxburg. The achievement won't pop till you encounter a STORY SPOILER in Frosted Peak(the third of the final areas). Once you finish their main quests including the story spoiler one, you will get the achievement.

BOSSY BUGS

Description: Defeat all of the Legendary Bugsnax

There are 4 bosses in the game and they can only fought after completing the last 3 areas of the game and reaching the last part of 4 Grumpuses Side Quest Line. Those 4 are Chandlo, Wiggle, Snorpy, and Cromdo. All you need to do is beat the boss, catch them and the achievement pops. It is also note worthy that Cromdo's boss is hard to understand so be careful.

SIDETRACKED

Description: Complete all Side Quests

This is for completing every Grumpuses Side Quest. To get them, you need to complete every area's main quest, get every Grumpus back to Snaxburg, and interview them. Once when you do that, you have access to their quests. Note: The update tells you when you finish a side quest when it rewards you an item. Once everyone's quest is done, the achievement is yours.

SAY CHEESE

Description: Scan a Grumpus after Saucing them with Cheese

When you gain access to Sizzling Sands, you get get the final sauce of the game, Cheese Sauce. You will need the Snakgrappler since the sauce is on high ledges in this area. Once you get the sauce, find Shelda(the grumpus of this area) and shoot the Cheese Sauce at her. Once you do that, scan her and the achievement is yours.

SUNDAE BEST

Description: Transform a Grumpus with a Scoopy, Banopper, and Cheery.

Similar with the Combo Meal, you will need 3 different BugSnax fed to the same Grumpus however these have to be found in the Frosted Peak Area and they can be found when you break the compound BugSnax in the area, Scoopy Banoopy. What you need to do is place your Trip Shot on a nearby campfire and aim and shoot it near this nearby ice. Once the BugSnax hits the trip shot, don't catch it but wait as this BugSnax will break into 3 different BugSnax which are the ones you need. Catch them and feed one Grumpus and get the achievement.

I'M STUFFED

Description: Fully Transform a Grumpus

This achievement requires the player to transform a Grumpus's whole body into Bugsnaxs. All you need to do is feed one grumpus a ton of BugSnax till their body is full of it. To tell that you finish feeding a Grumpus, The last snax has to fill their body. After you fully feed a Grumpus, the achievement is yours.

FEEDING FRENZY

Description: Fully Transform All Grumpuses

You need to feed every Grumpus in the game to get this achievement. There are two Grumpuses that prove to be a problem with this. Gramble can only be fed when he is sleep walking at Midnight and Shelda can only be fed when you fill her spiritual box with BugSnax. Once all 12 are fully fed, you get the Achievement.

SURVIVOR & VACATION'S END

These last two are very simple. Survivor requires you during the last part of the game to keep every Grumpus alive to get this achievement and if they die, you will need to restart that last mission all over again. Vacation's End is to beat the main story, once you beat it and escape the island, you get both achievements and finish the main game achievements.

FREE DLC ACHIEVEMENTS

There were 3 added trophies when the game got a update. The first one is to beat the DLC story. To get access to the DLC story, you need to finish Chandlo's, Snorpy's, Triffany's, Shelda's, and Floofty's side quest lines to get access to it. This will unlock a new island and all you need to do is beat the new story. The second achievement requires to obtain 10 hats. Hats can be found when catching a Bugsnaxs that are wearing them. You find where one is found through a map on Gramble's Ranch. Finally, the hardest one of the 3, fully furnish your home. The game added a home decorating feature and you will get quests from other Grumpuses that will give new furniture for your house. However, you will need Chandlo to upgrade your house more. Your house should have a total of 2 floors so once you get both floors, decorate every spot and the last of the achievements is yours.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I LOVE THIS GAME. This was such an odd game to play that it was very enjoyable to play and I loved everything I played up to now. It is on every console and system so it is able to played on everything. I hope you found this list good and I hope you will give this odd game a chance. Anyway Peace OUT.
